January 1, 2006 Abraham Shankman, 88, died New Years Day at the Inn at Menorah Park. Mr. Shankman was a life resident of Syracuse. He was a graduate of St. Bonaventure, and the Syracuse University College of Law. Abe was an appellate conferee for the IRS. Upon retiring he was an independent tax practitioner. Mr. Shankman was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He was a member of Onondaga Post 131 JWV, and a former member of Temple Beth El. His wife Lena died in 1996. Survived by his nephews, Jeffrey (Ginger) and Alan (Ann Dee), and his grandniece, Johanna. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Beth El Cemetery.
