Dorothy (Burke) Waltzer
Dorothy Waltzer, 95, departed this world Friday morning at Menorah Park. Dorothy was born October 10, 1920 to Samuel and Tessie Cohen Burke in NYC. She had been a resident of Syracuse for almost 70 years. Dorothy will forever be remembered for her strength, wisdom, tenacity, humor and warmth. Her family includes her children, Sally and Harvey Ullman, Cyrelle and Paul Enders, and Donald and Debbie Waltzer; her son-in-law, Les Abramovitz; her 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Melville (2000), and their daughter, Ronni Abramovitz (2014). Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, April 10 at Sisskind Funeral Chapel. Friends may visit with the family prior to the service on Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the funeral chapel, 3175 E. Genesee Street. Burial will be in Beth El Cemetery. Shiva will be observed Sunday following the funeral from 4 to 6 p.m. at Traditions at The Links, E. Syracuse, with a service at 6. Contributions in Dorothys memory may be made to Menorah Park, or Congregation Beth Sholom-Chevrah Shas. The family thanks with deep gratitude and appreciation the incredible loving care provided by the wonderful staff at Menorah Park.
