April 16, 2006 Dr. David Marshall, 92, a resident of Fayetteville, died Sunday, April 16, 2006 at Crouse Hospital. He received his Bachelors degree from Syracuse University, DDS from the University of Maryland and certification of Oral Surgery from Columbia University. He was the first orthodontist in Central New York. He is the author of numerous scientific articles. He published Anthropologic Concept. He founded the Cleft Palate Clinic in Syracuse. He continued to work for the New York State Health Department until retirement. His Anatomical Museum is now housed at Syracuse University. He was a member of AOA, ADA, and numerous international dental societies. Dr. Marshall was in private practice in Syracuse from 1946 until his retirement in 2003, and was a member of Temple Beth El. In World War II, Dr. Marshall served in the Army and was the dentist to General George Patton. Dr. Marshall was predeceased by his first wife, Rita Marshall; son, Scott in 1975; and a daughter, Robin in 1965. Survived by his wife, Marjorie Marshall; sons, Dr. Robert (Linda) Marshall, Randy (Nancy) Marshall; grandchildren, Dena (Judah) Marshall, Dr. Jonah (Erin) Marshall, Benjamin (Lisa) Marshall, Hillary and Rebecca Marshall; and great-grandchildren, Niomi Markel, Gabriel and Julia Marshall. Services were conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at the Birnbaum Funeral Chapel, 1909 E. Fayette Street. Calling hours were Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Chapel.
