Sylvia Elaine Hodes June 7, 2010 Sylvia Elaine Hodes, 85, passed away June 7, 2010. Survived by her children, Howard (Patricia) Hodes of The Woodlands, Texas, Susan (Mickey) Colb of Pueblo, CO, and Roberta Wiessner of Yonkers, NY; daughter-in-law, Janice Hodes of New Orleans, LA; son-in-law, Edward Wiessner; brothers, Arthur (Golda) Freundlich of Boca Raton, FL, and William (Charlene) Freundlich of Rochester, NY; grandchildren, Ben (Joanie) Hodes, Emily (Michael) Wells, Adam Hodes, Marci Colb, Heather Colb, Daniel Wiessner (Jaclyn Bruntfield) and Carolyn Wiessner; and great-grandchildren, Gracie Hodes and Aden Wiessner. Preceded in death by her husband, Sam Hodes, and parents, Murray and Minnie Freundlich. Sylvia was born Nov. 29, 1924, in Brooklyn, NY. She grew up and raised her family in Syracuse and resided in Pueblo, CO, the past 24 years. She was a cancer survivor and volunteered for the American Cancer Society. She also volunteered at the Pueblo Nature Center and the Pueblo Library. A memorial service was held June 10, 2010, at Temple Emanuel, 1325 N. Grand Ave., in Pueblo, CO.
