November 23, 2005 Alyce Engel, 88, died Wednesday, November 23, 2005, at her residence at the Nottingham. Born in Utica, New York, Mrs. Engel spent many years in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, until moving to Syracuse in 2000. She was a former member ofTemple Beth El and their sisterhood in Utica, past president of Hadassah and past president of the Council of Jewish Women. As an accomplished and avid golfer, Alyce was a former president of the Womens Golf Association at Higby Hills Country Club in New Hartford and a member of Inverrary Country Club in Lauderhill, FL. She also taught water aerobics at Inverrary for 15 years and was an outstanding bridge player. Mrs. Engel was predeceased in 2002 by her husband, Dr. Howard Engel. Survived by her twin children, Dr. Stephen (Priscilla) Engel and Patricia (Richard) Silverman; grandchildren, Rick, Julie, Leslie, Shelly, Jeff and Jacie; and great-grandchildren, Gwendolyn, Emily, Hannah, Maille, Zachary and one on the way. Graveside services and burial will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, November 28, 2005, in Beth El Cemetery, Whitesboro, New York. Contributions may be made to the Sarah Speiller Fund at the Charles T.
