Irving Kassel, 89, died Wednesday evening in San Clemente, CA. Irving was born March 10, 1924 in Syracuse to Philip and Celia Kassel, of blessed memory. He was a graduate of Syracuse University; and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was among the first to liberate the concentration camp survivors in Germany. Survived by his sons, David, and Robert; his grandchildren, Rebecca, Natalie, Lucy, and Jeff; his brother, Norman, and his sister, Selma Schlesinger.
Funeral services will be Sunday, March 24 at 10 a.m. at Sisskind Funeral Chapel. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday immediately prior to the service from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral chapel, 3175 E. Genesee Street. Burial will be in Beth El Cemetery.
