Jack Wexler Of Canastota Dies at 44

CANASTOTA — Jacob (Jack) Wexler, 44, proprietor of Park\\'s Drug Store here for the past 12 years, suffered a fatal heart attack at 4:30 p.m. yesterday while attending a clambake. He lived at S. Main St. He was pronounced dead by Dr. Richard B. Cuthbert, acting coroner\\'s physician, shortly after his arrival at Frank Cerio\\'s Clamshed near Lewis Point Rd., Oneida Lake.

Mr. Wexler was born in Syracuse Oct. 26, 1912. He was the son of Louis and Rebecca Whittman Wexler. He was a licensed pharmacist, having graduated from Columbia University. Since June 1, 1945, he had owned and operated Park\\'s Drug Store. Before coming to Canastota he was employed at Dells Drug Store in Oneida and had also been a pharmacist in Syracuse.

Mr. Wexler was an avid sports fan. He was a booster of the Syracuse Nationals and Boxer Carmen Basilio. He was a member of Canastota Lodge, F. A. M., 231; the Zyria Temple of Utica; the United Elks, Lodge 767, and Green Lakes Golf Club.

On June 15, 1939, he married the former Elva Isaacs of Syracuse, who survives. Also surviving are his mother, Mrs. Morris Engel of Utica; one son, Michael; two daughters, Lois and Donne, all at home; two sisters, Mrs. Mildred Jacobson of New York City and Mrs. Dorothy Schnitzler of Pittsburgh, Pa.

Services will be conducted at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Horne tomorrow at an hour to be announced.
Burial will be in Syracuse. Friends may call at the funeral home tonight at their convenience.

The family has requested that flowers be omitted and contributions may be made to the Heart Fund at the local post office.
