A. Leon Goldman, 89, a resident of Chestnut Hill, MA, formerly a lifelong resident of Auburn, NY, died at his residence on Saturday, April 7, 2007. Mr. Goldman graduated George Washington Law School in 1940, served in the Army Air Forces legal office in WWII in Selma, AL, where he met his bride, Marilyn. He practiced law in DC and NY for 48 years, including a law partnership with his late brother, Henry. Leon was president of the Cayuga County Bar Association and was a member of Congregation Bnai Israel and Bnai Brith. He was devoted to family, Jewish philanthropies and the state of Israel. Survived by his wife, Marilyn Goldman; children Vivian Schaar, Stanley, Harry and Gerry; and grandchildren Leslie, Eric, Daniel, Eden, Elliot, Seth and Oliver. Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2007, at Birnbaum Funeral Chapel, 1909 East Fayette St. Friends may call at the chapel from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday.
