Lester Paikin, 78, died Friday, January 8, 2006 at the Florida Medical Center. He was a former resident of Syracuse and for over 30 years resided in Sunrise, Florida. Mr. Paikin was active in the Berkshire Wallpaper and Paint Co., Paikins Paints, Isatta Auto Agency, a division of BMW, Modern Lanes Bowling Alley, Ro Pac, and was a practicing Hypnotherapist. He was also an Army veteran of World War II, a former member of Philo-Mt. Sinai Lodge, former member of the Knights of Phythis, Joshua Lodge Odd Fellows and Temple Beth El. Mr. Paikin was an accomplished professional singer performing at Carnegie Hall with Vincent Lopez. Survived by his former wife, Maxine Paikin Skurk; sons, Martin, Keith and Scott Paikin; daughters, Cheryl Paikin, and Kimberly Anken; three grandchildren; a brother, Leon Paikin, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, January 11, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Birnbaum Funeral Chapel, 1909 East Fayette Street. Friends may call on Wednesday at the Chapel from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will be in Beth El Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Temple Beth El, 3528 E.
