Beatrice S. Alpert, 92, a lifelong resident of Syracuse, died Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at the Jewish Home of Central New York at Menorah Park. Beatrice was an active participant in her community. She was a member of the Auxiliary Onondaga Post 131 of the JWV, Sisterhood of Temple Beth El and other organizations. Most recently she was a resident of the Oaks at Menorah Park and was loved by all who knew her. She was predeceased by her husband, Marvin I. Alpert, with whom she was associated in his law/accounting firm for many years. Survived by her daughters, Janet (Jack) Reed and Elaine Alpert Sherman, and four grandchildren, Ben and Rob Reed, and Alyson and Mitchell Sherman.
Services will be conducted 1 p.m. on Friday, May 25, 2012, at the Birnbaum Funeral Chapel, 1909 E. Fayette Street. Friends may visit with the family on Friday from noon to 1 p.m., prior to the service at the chapel. Burial will be in Beth El Cemetery.
