Rebecca Braude
July 27, 2007 Rebecca Braude, 104, of Syracuse, died Friday at the Jewish Home of Central NY. A life resident of Syracuse, Ms. Braude was a graduate of Central High School and Syracuse University and taught at Boyd Elementary School in Solvay for many years. She was a member of Temple Beth El and its sisterhood, Congregation Beth Sholom-Chevra Shas, Hadassah, and the Corinthian Club. Formerly, she was a volunteer for Jewish Federation, American Red Cross and United Way. She was predeceased by her sisters, Belle Cohen in 2002, Sadie Braude in 1988 and Gertrude Lavine in 1987, and by a brother, Jacob Braude, in 1974. Survived by her niece, Ellen (Philip) Garber; nephew, Evan Braude; two grandnieces; and one grandnephew. Services will be noon Monday at Birnbaum Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Beth El Cemetery.
