Celia Meren
November 14, 2011 Celia Meren, 97, died Monday at Crouse Hospital. Celia was a life resident of Syracuse. Formerly of Fayetteville, Celia had lived at the Oaks of DeWitt until moving to Menorah Park in 2008. Prior to retiring, Celia was an administrator for the Syracuse Board of Education. She was an active member of Temple Beth El; the sisterhood of the Temple; NaAmat; and Safe Haven Museum of Oswego of which she was a founding member. Celia was predeceased by her husband, Bernard; and her son, Gary. Survived by her daughters, Bobbi Hope and Barbara (Hanukah) Moalem; seven grandchildren, and a great-grandson. Funeral services will be at 11 this morning at Sisskind Funeral Chapel. Friends may visit with the family this morning from 10 to 11 at the funeral chapel, 3175 E.
