Ruth B (Woolf) Glazier
Ruth Glazier of Syracuse, passed away at Crouse Hospital, Saturday, June 22, 2013. Ruth was born in Brooklyn to Clara and Abraham Woolf. After graduating from City College of NY, she moved to Syracuse where she married her husband, Abe and raised two children, Carla (Jay) Peacock and Elizabeth (Steven) Blatt. She excelled at teaching for many years in Syracuse City Schools, especially in the ESL and Special Education programs. Ruths happiest times were as a grandmother and great-grandmother to Adam (Abby), Izabella and Nathaniel Peacock, Joshua Peacock and Daniel, Ethan, Eliana, and Mia Blatt. Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Abe; sister, Esther; in-laws, Louis and Beverly Glazier, and Pauline Glazier. In addition to her children and grandchildren, Ruth is survived by her brother, George (Renee) Woolf; her brother-in-law, Milton Glazier, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Graveside services and burial were conducted at Temple Beth El Cemetery. Contributions can be made in Ruths memory to the Food Bank of CNY, 7066 Interstate Island Rd., Syracuse, NY 13209.
