January 10, 2004 Tillie Teitelbaum, 92, of 18 Arbor Lane, died at The Jewish Health n Rehabilitation Center at Menorah Park. Tillie received her BA in Synesthetic Education at SU and was a member of Sigma Chi Alpha, Art Education Honorary. She was an art teacher, K-12, and also a Professor of Art Education at SU, where she taught student art teachers. Tillie was a member of the NY State Art Teachers Association, Friends of the School of Art at SU, The Onondaga Art Guild and several other affiliations. Mrs. Teitelbaum studied with many recognized artists and participated in group and major juried exhibitions and one-man shows. Her scope of works included many media. She was a judge of the NY State Scholastic Art Awards for the Syracuse and Binghamton areas. Tillie traveled extensively, including a trip to China in 1990 where she judged the Shanghai International Children\'s painting Competition. Her published works include "Mosaic," a book of poetry and short stories. Her husband Stanley died in 1963. Survived by a son Mark (Lori); a daughter Elaina Ruth Manley; a brother Herbert Gandel; six grandsons; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday at Birnbaum Funeral Chapel. Calling hour will be 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel, 1909 E. Fayette St. Burial will be in Beth El Cemetery.
