January 28, 2009 Joseph J. Alpert, 40, of Fayetteville died unexpectedly Wednesday, January 28, 2009, at St. Josephs Hospital. Joseph attended Manlius Pebble Hill prior to graduating from Fayetteville Manlius High School. After graduation, his sense of community drew him to attend Hebrew University in Israel while working on a kibbutz in the late 1980s. During his varied career, Joseph was employed by Silo, Wynit, Seneca Data and Swift Trucking. Survived by his wonderful daughter, Victoria Alpert; loving mother, Sally Alpert; and his brothers, Dr. Samuel (Dr. Tracy) Alpert and Benjamin (Maria) Alpert; uncle, Herbert Alpert; aunt, Etta Rae Alpert; aunt, Beatrice Alpert; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be conducted on Sunday, February 1, at 11 a.m. at Birnbaum Funeral Chapel, 1909 E. Fayette St. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the chapel.
