Mildred Friedman died Friday, December 14, 2007, at Crouse Hospital, following a short illness. She was 101 years old. Mildred was a lifelong resident of Syracuse. She was the bookkeeper and secretary for more than 30 years for Fit Rite Outfitters and then worked for Piper Moving n Storage Company for 10 years, until she retired. Mildred was a member of Temple Adath Yeshurun. She was predeceased by her sister, Rosaline Friedman, and by her nephew, Lester Berman. She had lived with Rosaline and Lester in a house on East Fayette Street for more than 50 years, before moving to the Oaks in Dewitt in 2001. Survived by many loving friends and relatives, including Ethel Berman, Evelyn and Marvin Malikow; her great-nephews, Mitchell and Howard Berman; great-niece, Sharon Martinez; and their families. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2007, at Birnbaum Funeral Chapel, 1909 East Fayette Street. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel.
